This garden is split into a number of well defined areas: the orchard, the rose garden, the stream garden, the woodland and the woodland glade.

The house itself is a 16th century manor house much extended and added to over the years. It has much character and this has been reflected in the garden design.

The design starts at the entrance where the visitor approaches the house through a small stretch of woodland. The first view of the garden is via the rose garden which frames the delightful cottagey frontage of the house. From here the route around the garden passes through some old yew arches and into the woodland glade which has been created around a central lawn an seat surrounded by scented trees and shrubs.

From the woodland glad the journey around the garden takes the visitor down to the stream which is crossed by a series of ancient stepping stones. The path then leads through the woodland, planted with wood anemones and primulas, into the orchard which is underplanted with thousands of spring bulbs.

From the orchard our route re-crosses the stream via a bridge returning us back to the rose garden.
